“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives. What we do with this hour, and that one, is what we are doing.”
I read this quote by writer Annie Dillard yesterday, and it hit me [metaphorically] in the face. Hard. How on point it is, as I thought about how much of my life in recent years I’ve spent feeling stuck, trapped, wanting the next part of life. Add to this the mindless scrolling and distraction, and I’d hate to work out how much of my time, and therefore my life, has been lost.
